Lanai Airport〔(【引用サイトリンク】 Lanai Airport )〕 , also written as Lānai Airport, is a state owned, public use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) southwest of the central business district of Lanai City (Lānai City), in Maui County, Hawaii.〔 The airport began regular operations in 1930.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Lanai Airport )〕 It is the only airport serving the island of Lanai (Lānai). As per Federal Aviation Administration records, the airport had 52,075 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2008,〔 〕 42,594 enplanements in 2009, and 43,922 in 2010.〔 〕 It is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a ''primary commercial service'' airport (more than 10,000 enplanements per year).〔 〕 == Facilities and aircraft == The airport covers an area of 505 acres (204 ha) at an elevation of 1,308 feet (399 m) above mean sea level.
